    Pros

24 hour store, some flexibility with shifts. Benefits are decent in terms of profit sharing.

    Cons

Difficult to get ahead. cashiers and stock persons do all the work and are also pressured to sell monthly items. Each position is capped at a certain wage. Shift team leaders do the work of assistant managers but make only $2-$3 more than a cashier. Assistant managers make on average $8-$10 more an hour but push most of the responsibilities to the cashiers, clerks and team leaders

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. There needs to be more room for advancement. Cashiers and clerks should be cross-trained in other departments: photo, pharmacy, cosmetics. Many cashiers get bored and want to do something new but are stuck on the front line checking out customers.
