Pros

guaranteed 40 hours per week.... a good opportunity if you want to move up in the company or become a manager with a better company.... this position will look really good on your resume.

Cons

you have to wait a year for benefits, and vacation.... your sick days start after six months. Alot of information to learn in such a small amount of time but not paid enough. You do the same job as the assistant managers and get paid way less. Your abilities are limited such as you can't look up customer info etc.

    Pros

Being an intern while attending pharmacy school helps in learning the system, understanding what
is expected of you once you become a pharmacist, and becoming more comfortable with the fast-paced, high-stress environment of a retail pharmacy.

    Cons

Sometimes can get pretty stressful because pharmacists are expected to fill each prescription in 15 minutes. Having high volume of patients, getting each prescription ready in 15 minutes can be
    challenging.

    Pros

Walgreens has been a great combination of pay, benefits, stress, and job requirements. You never do the same thing every day, which I love.

    Cons

Pay caps for all employees. They devalued long term positions. They make every decision based on how it looks on paper.

    Advice to Management

The business model only makes sense if you are deep in talent every position behind the store manager. Walgreens is not deep in assistant manager talent. Walgreens devalued that position a few years ago and most of the talent left. The same thing is going to happen at the store manager level. Walgreens is looking for a bunch of "doers" and has taken away the entrepreneur out of the store manager role.
