Walgreens – “Great Employer”

Offering more "convenient services" is a very nice concept on paper. But the follow through had been absolutely atrocious. For example, the DHL shipping table sat in the stores in my district for months before they were installed. In the mean time, they were brought on to the sales floor and were used as promo merchandise space instead. Another example, the Goliath tracker system literally sat in my store's stockroom on the belt for at least two months before they were installed. Even more, ever since my store switched to Farner-Bocken delivery, we have been unable to get sour cream or cottage cheese in from ANY supplier. We were told that we are not authorized to take the Land-O-Lakes brand of above products so we can't order it from Farner. Hiland refuses to deliver them to us because they were told that they are not allowed to directly sell them to us even though their distributors can?

All in all, before corporate decides to add more "convenient services", please at least first figure out the current kinks in our logistics and program roll-outs. The lack of follow through wastes all of your research and presentation time. I used to work in such a corporate environment performing these market analyses and know the amount of money involved. The lack of proper execution is simply burning all those dollars away.

By the way, I'm still not impressed with the way we keep on harping about cutting costs and yet turn around, redesigning megasaver tags so frequently.
