I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

health insurance (for full time employes) profit sharing that you have to put money into and can't take any out till you have worked at walgreens for 6 years

Cons

If you get a bad store manager you will be doing a lot of extra work with out extra pay.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the company would stop buying out other pharmacies and start caring about the current employes and the fact that a lot of us are on FOOD STAMPS then it would be a better company.

    Pros

Good benefits. That's all the good thing about working for this company!

    Cons

This company has undergone major changes and has eliminated many management position. Be wise and do your homework before applying for work here. Simply go and talk to managers and employees specially long term to learn the truth. Low pay, repetitive work, favoritism, stressful work environment and poor scheduling!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please treat employees fairly, and better pay! Be accountable and own mistakes!

I worked at Walgreens full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

One of the higher paying retailers until recently when they restructured all their benefits including salary bases, bonuses, PTO, and profit sharing. Now they are paying everyone significantly less to do the same/more work.

    Cons

You are expected to work as if you have no life outside of Walgreens. Forget about having friends or visiting with family ever again. Hope you don't like holidays, because you'll never have time to celebrate them again. The 'suits' of the company from the District Manager on up manage through intimidation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If this company ever wants to get back on track it would have to go back in time a decade or two, back to when they cared about their employees and shared their financial successes with them.
