I have been working at Walgreens

Pros

I agree with the health values the company holds - patient education, immunizations, easy access to certain health tests

Cons

The process is slow to remove a bad egg from a leadership position at the store level, and a continuous feeling of being under-staffed.

    Pros

My managers were excellent and hard work was always recognized.

    Cons

It's retail. People can be outrageous, customers and coworkers included...but it's definitely humbling and everyone should have an experience like that.

I think the essence of Walgreens is preserved wherever you may be, but the employees are the most essential factor.

    Pros

There are good benefits, sometimes really awesome coworkers, a value to be socially responsible, a good amount of teamwork and idea contribution.

    Cons

There can be situations where ideas are stifled, or certain areas don't exactly live up to the Walgreens legacy. Sometimes the days are so much to deal with emotionally, and physically.

    Advice to Management

College degrees should be required for upper management, always, all the time.
