I worked at Walgreens

Pros

Work Life balance
Decent benefits
Lots of opportunities to go up the corp ladder if you are above average and politically savvy
Most front line business units have hard working people

Cons

Leadearship not strong,
Poor professional growth - dont expect to learn anything radically different
Too much politics
Back end business units like Accounting, PMO not impressive at all - below average

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Confront problems, dont avoid the. e.g. If you identify poor perfomers, get rid of them rather than transfering them to another department making them someone else's problem.

No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Walgreens

    Pros

very flexible scheduling, many oppurtunities to get promotions. Pay very well for a retail pharmacy setting. offer tuition reimburstment for students interested in attending pharmacy school.

    Cons

can be VERY busy, and very stressful environment but one the other hand can be rewarding. some patients get very upset and mean very easily but just have to try to zone it out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

give employees positive feedback and tell them what they are doing well. Very hard for a employee to go to a stressful job and not get rewarded.
