If you are desperate go ahead, but keep looking for a job while you're at it.

I worked at Walmart full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There are almost always openings at the store - unless they create a hiring freeze. You can also request your general shift - 1st, 2nd or 3rd. It's open 24/7 except for Christmas day.

    Cons

Turnover at most stores is high (our store was roughly 80-90%). Customers believe in "the customer is ALWAYS right," which technically true, doesn't always apply - customers will come up and declare something is free or abuse the policies. Management doesn't "schedule" they just let a computer do it - so when you are available 24 hours a day, you will be scheduled random shifts sometimes like 2-11 one day and then 6 - 3 the next. And before you say it doesn't happen, it does. Also, it is common to be scheduled 8 or more days in a row. Also, management has a tendency to reverse positions on policy: if policy says no cash refunds ever and the customer begins to yell about calling corporate, the manager will give a cash refund. Also they have recently adopted a policy of no full-time associates: if you are a new associate, you are required to sign a waver stating you understand you will NEVER be allowed full time. If you already have full time, they will try their hardest to make you lose it (under policy if you are less than full time for 3 consecutive weeks you are automatically made part time)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please back up your policies. Please make better decisions when it comes to the way you treat associates. Please back up your associates when it is clear the customer is trying to "get over" on the store.
