Pros

The best features of the job are the employee discount, 401k, stock purchase program, flexibility, and other associates. Working at Walmart you will get to see how the worlds largest retailer operates, something that you can't get any ware else.

Cons

The biggest problem in Walmart would be training. It is something I know Walmart is working on but they have a long way to go. When I first became a Department Manager my training was "Here is your keys, go figure it out". They have started to change that but they have some work to do.

Advice to Management

Listen to your associates, get back to the basics of what Walmart started as, and revamp your training programs.

    Pros

Lack of responsibility, uniform is simple, (some) employees are easy to get along with. Schedules are made 3 weeks in advance, which is helpful for people with school, kids, second jobs.

    Cons

Strict scheduling, cannot request a day off unless it's a month out or more. They are quick to pass blame to employees down the chain, and punish you for it to keep the trail off them.

    Advice to Management

Treat your workers better, before the karma gets back to you.

    Pros

Almost no dress code No interaction with customers if thats your thing Can listen to music Easy to pick up Co-workers are usually awesome

    Cons

Managers, managers, managers. Absolutely insane times given to tasks Write ups on the fastest workers (no reason) Understaffed Anything done in the coolers takes twice as long Sub par training

    Advice to Management

    Be realistic about stock times.
