Pros

If your a fast scanner & show up on all your scheduled days ,you automatically get max hours through their computer schedule.... Also cashier's get the most flexible hours in the whole store.

Cons

The customers & always making them feel like they are right ....even when they are insane . Also getting time to train in other fields as a cashier is difficult...because it takes up most of your time ,& moving up in management can take monthes longer to achieve just for this reason .

Advice to Management

When you have a great cashier that actually wants to move up in management, actually try to help them attain that goal in a reasonable time frame, pushing back a willing associate for upper management will not only make them not want to anymore ,but also lose interest the job, because a person with high goals is not someone you want to lose, furthermore the associate will not want to be apart of a company that not only ignores their employees but doesn't give them any reason to stay if there is nowhere to go from there .

    Pros

Worked around schedule for college. Moved around store departments. Hourly associates are very nice. A couple managers, danelle and cliff, are very good to work for and can be seen on the sales floor also doing work. They recognize hard work and take care if those who do so.

    Cons

Never gives full raises. Management does not recognize hard work but instead always finds something you should improve on. Yearly reviews done by managers that never work with you. One to two managers seem psycho. Idk how they got promoted to their positions.. Store manager is rarely seen. Shift / co store managers run the place but are always in their office sitting down, and promote others with their same opinions. These managers treat associates as expendable and replaceable. They often say something, then when it comes up and your butt is on the line and you need them to admit they said it, they don't. Associates who do very little work do not get fired, but rather just get away with it until they screw up on absences. Associates who stand up to management are pushed to different lower paying jobs or fired. I made it these years doing very hard work, but being a suckup when needed and never standing up to the co managers. They all liked me and wanted me to be promoted, but I cannot be fake to be like them and mean to associates. Promoted yes, but maybe once got a full raise, always meets not exceeds. But yet I'm manager material? Haha.

    Advice to Management

Please, take care of your associates. Practice what you preach. Fire manager Jody. Tell Dave to loosen up and take jokes, and manage his stress better. Give exceeds to people who deserve it.

    Pros

A regular pay check, and benefits. Fifteen minute breaks, and an hour for lunch. After two years, ten days of vacation time. 10.80 an hour.

    Cons

They expect a high level of attention. Large emphasis on focusing your eyes, reducing accident PDQ or tension muscles, cleaning up trash from carts, and slip, trip, fall hazards. They took away our forty hour work week, and they going after our Sunday premium as well. Five carts at at time, backwards, practically raced back. Then, turn them side ways from the side while focusing back.

    Advice to Management

    none.
