Slave drivers for low pay. They have NO concern for their workers or customer's safety or health.

Former Employee - Maintenance in Tahlequah, OK

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Discounts, meeting good decent co-workers, having some laughs when possible.

    Cons

No room to breathe. Always expected to do jobs not in your job title. And you have so many managers barking orders at you, you don't know which way to turn, and you'll get yelled at by all of them just because you did what they asked. Funny stuff if you ask me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve your people's skills, and stop listening to idiots who know nothing about safety and health regulations. And start training your workers the right way. Shoving them into a spot and telling them to do it or else is NOT training them.

  2.

Great job if they'd allow the managers to manage the store, too much micro-managing from higher ups in the company.

Current Employee - Assistant Manager in Austin, TX

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There is always a possibility that you can move up, given the right location and management it can be a great place to work.

    Cons

Once you get into a 'bad" district it's hard to transfer out. Stores every move is dictated by home office, task management (my guide) is time consuming for associates and management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lessen the dictation given from higher ups, allow the associates to work without being 'tasked' to do each individual project.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
