I worked at Walmart full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Fun people to work with and getting to meet new people as cashier. Management was very helpful and was able to get full time after a short time. I had a good team at my location.

Cons

Low pay to start and raises are very small.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the pay grade for employees.

    Pros

In my experience even the people above me treated me equally which is greatly appreciated and hard to come by when you work lower wage jobs. Everyone was really friendly.

    Cons

Cant really make your own schedule.

I worked at Walmart part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It really all comes down to the job that you have and whether the other employees working there are fun to work with. I had a positive experience. The management at my store were mostly good to work for, and the other associates were good as well.

    Cons

The customers are the only downside, which I think it true in all retail jobs. Some people just feel entitled, especially in northwest Indiana.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to listen more to your employees. Sometimes, management gets to concerned with the bottom line and dealing with their superiors and all of the directives coming from corporate that they forget to listen to the ideas and advice from the hourly associates.
