I have been working at Walmart full-time

    Pros

Huge impact on suppliers, solid job security, low cost of living in northwest Arkansas, international presence, plenty of job opportunities in different locations and different job functions.

    Cons

Too many management layers, job function overlaps, resulting in many people doing the same job, inefficient and too much time attending too many meetings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut out management layers and recognize real talent. Support and empower front line staff.

I worked at Walmart part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It was a good part time job. Name another company that does part time with vacation, health benefits, sick time, holidays, and gives you 10% off merchandise. If you can stand the people, its a great college job or an in between job

    Cons

The people are the biggest con. The lowest on the economic scale shop here, you need to be prepared to deal with that as well as some of the lowest economic denominator of people that you will be working with as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, they are your front line people and they know your customers better than you do.
