Pros

Chances for growth and managerial experience if you want it bad enough. Management is willing to assist you in your growth.

Cons

Pay is horrible at most positions except for salaried members of management.

Advice to Management

Pay your people more so they won't want to leave and will show up to work.

    Pros

It's steady work unless they've decided to cut hours that quarter. There's the chance to bonus every quarter.

    Cons

There are never enough employees to satisfy the demands of your salaried members of management, from assistant to shift manager to co manager, store manager and even district. You are pulled in 20 different directions every day and held accountable for each direction given to you by a different member of salaried management. They begrudge you your breaks and very rarely allow you to even complete your computerized training.

    Advice to Management

Accept responsibility for your decisions and stop trying to pass the buck on your own choices.

    Pros

Good pay, stores still have caring culture and help each other out. Assistants and Shift Managers have decent work life balance and are protected. Lots of opportunity to promote if you have the retail mindset and people skills.

    Cons

Work life balance for store managers is non existent. You earn every penny as the Store Manager due to lack Assistants and direct reports to delegate to. Inconsistant Inventory flow from Corporate pushes makes running the programs very difficult. Work based scheduling has not progressed and fails to set the store up for success. Talent pool internally is drying up.

    Advice to Management

Get the freight flow right and allow the stores to run the programs with accurate goal hours to handle the work load. Other companies have figured it out - get on board and stop promising things that don't ever happen. Trust and inspire your Managers and stop the constant beat downs.
