I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

If you're willing to stick around you can & do make good money

Cons

Management of individual stores varies greatly. If you don't have a strong leader the whole team is weak. My particular location is understaffed and the associates not properly trained. Management is to focused on putting out fires instead of helping their associates do their jobs. Most new hires "life spans" are less than 6 months, hard to develop, teach, train co workers when they are constantly changing.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Able to advance up the ladder quickly. Get to meet a lot of different people. Most of the time able to have fun and work at the same time.

    Cons

Some individuals able to move up because of the buddy system not because of job performance. Overtime not allowed most of the time. Annual raises do not keep up with cost of living.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is better to struggle for a little while with less good workers than to hire everyone that comes along. It is better to take a little longer to get the job done with the right people than to get it done quickly and wrong and have to do it over.
