I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The prices are good and you can usually always find what you looking for

    Cons

The amount of work that is expected of you far outweighs the amount of compensation that is given. The entire management team's overall ethics and how they go about day to day things is in serious need of reworking.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people that work here are for the most part an interesting, humorous bunch. They manage to maintain some form of sanity despite the plague that is "Walmart."

    Cons

Although I'm sure someone will say this is a description of myself, it's not. When I first started working at Walmart at the grand, old age of 17, I didn't know it was a crap job. I didn't know crap jobs existed. I thought it was heaven to get paid, but after 3 years of working there, with some odd internships with other companies in between, I realized this is, in fact a crap job. The managers are, for the most part, unappreciative in the most spot on sense of the word. You could wash the floor with your tears and they'd walk over it with their grimy paws.
The job is fairly cut out in the sense that it is customer service and thus, there are customers and you must service them. I am exaggerating, but only slightly.
The managers will send you to another part of the store, but it's all the same bull.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give better raises. $0.40 is nothing after a year of bearing the brunt of bull**** that happens in the store.
    Listen to your employees.
    Don't pick favorites.
The customer is not always right. I have seen employees tell the customer the store policy on returns only to have a manager void what he/she said and give the customer what they want. Not only does it show a lack of morale, it's humiliating to the employee.
