Current Employee - Field Project Supervisor in Minneapolis, MN

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunity is there if you are looking for endless varieties of jobs. Associates become family and very close friendships are developed. Bonuses are great, travel benefits if you travel for the company are better then any other retailer. If you are a hard worker and can deal with stress well this is a great company to work for.

    Cons

Hours can be long, direction often miss communicated on a local store level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the customers and associates, stress levels are at all time highs because of the amount of work being pushed onto one person, management needs to realize that although innovations make jobs easier to complete more often than not the innovation creates other problems.

Former Employee - Customer Service Manager in Houston, TX
Former Employee - Customer Service Manager in Houston, TX

I worked at Walmart part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Schedule flexibility potential due to operating 24 hour locations

    Cons

Constantly cutting hours, even at higher volume locations, doesn't hire full time for cashiers, sales associates, maintenance, cart-pushers, or Customer Service Managers. Must know someone to get hired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take Associate livelihood and financial stability into greater consideration as well as monitor hiring practices within retail store facilities
