I worked at Walmart full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Walmart employment is very stable regardless of the economy. In fact Wal-Mart salary remained high with it's annual bonus during the fallout housing market.

Cons

A large group of managers are uneducated and succeed off the backs of their associates, without giving merit to the associate or eventual promotions. My wife is on her 18th manager in 10 years and the result is new management isn't documenting achievements of there associate.Lower than average pay.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating your associates like children, let them use the restroom with having to carry a large piece of wood for a hall pass! Advancement should be for those who have earned it, not by others popularity.
