I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

It's the largest retailer and has multiple career opportunities.

Cons

On the other hand, it's a no frills company and some the cost saving measures are over the top.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Loosen the restrictions on raises.

I worked at Walmart part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The customers were awesome and the opportunity to do more than you job title was always available so I never got bored!

    Cons

Some of the managers tend to be ridiculous but for every bad apple there were two good ones!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start at the corporate level treating your employees (store managers, supervisors) at the higher levels in a more pleasant way and it would trickle all the way down. When you give them a hard time and you are rude... the little people get treated poorly and it reflects to the customer. A positive wally world experience starts the top.

I have been working at Walmart

    Pros

You can make great friends, as long as you don't let yourself in the stupid gossip circles.

    Cons

You can get coached if people you work with aren't doing their job even if you are so they can "make a point" that you are a "team"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your associates, make time for them, be very firm but fair, know how to deal with the individual, don't assume everyone is the same, get to know your associates, don't just yell because you think it will get things done. Don't become a monster just because of your position, please remain a person and have a heart. It's not just about your bonus.
