Current Employee - Metro Assistant Manager in Portland, OR

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

At the Assistant Manager level and above pay begins to become reasonable. However at any time your work load and work hours can change making the pay feel inadequate.

Cons

Lack of respect for the individual. Even though the company is built on the foundation of helping people save money and live better that goal does not carry over to its employees. There is very little respect for personal time and the importance of your family.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more positive recognition and feeback to your Assistant Managers who keep the stores successful and do all the hard work.

I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There is much room for advancement., should you choose to want to move up. You can make a great salary if you apply yourself.

    Cons

Don't expect to get paid a lot, if you don't plan to advance. Plan to not spend holidays with your family. This is a retail job!
