I worked at Walmart full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Set schedule, 4 10 hour days with weekends off. Earned personal time, vacation time and sick time. 401k, stocks, insurance, good pay with raises every year.

Cons

Large company with lots of micromanaging. H/O management doesn't work in the warehouse, so they don't make the best decisions for the building,

I worked at Walmart part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Fellow workers help you out when you don't understand something. Fun assisting customers.

    Cons

People usually turn on others at times. Some abandoned work. Keeps you busy and running back and forth from one place to another place.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Promotion opportunity, yearly raises, true EEO, great place to build a resume, discount at Walmart, great place to make friends.

    Cons

Blatant disdain from the general public has forced many of my friends from the job. People treat Walmart employees far worse than the company has ever been rumored to. Pay is small until you earn a couple promotions. Hours can vary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Strive for excellence shouldn't mean strive for profit. Respect for the individual and service to our customers should mean a well-staffed store, even if that payroll digs into the bottom line a little more.
