I worked at Walmart part-time for more than 3 years

Pros

I worked part time in the toy department. I was paid well and had great coworkers. I received good hours. The management at the store were approachable and strong managers.

Cons

There is a very strong push for cross training, so you may think you'll be doing a certain job but find out that you'll be pulled to do almost anything. Depending on your work style this can be really good or really bad.

I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1) Good pay (at least in my case)
    2) A good benefits package including medical and dental
    3) 401K
    4) About 38 hrs of paid vacation time per year along with about 10 hrs paid personal time
    5) Friendly staff and CSM's
    6) Good hours and flexible schedule

    Cons

    1) VERY LONG LINES! The registers are poorly staffed and the lines can go to the middle of the store!
    2) Some of the rudest customers who ignore you completely and are on their cell phone
    3) Strict attendance policies with possible termination on 7th absence in 6 month period.
    4) They promote an unhealthy lifestyle with their relationship with McDonalds and a plethora of unhealthy eating choices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your workers a fair reasonable living wage and listen to their concerns.
