Current Employee - Assistant Store Manager in Maryville, TN

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

You control your own future. With hardwork and open work schedule the possibilities are endless. Paid vacations. Benefits and lots of options to choose from. 401k and stock options. Discount

Cons

not always staffed as well as we'd like. processes to eliminate poor workers results in a lot of unproductive time. the replenishment time on some items is a very long time. that results in out of stock which results in unhappy customers and store manager.

Former Employee - Overnight Stocker in Harrisonville, MO

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

the insurance(that you hardly use), discount card (saves an average of 10%), and my share quarterly bonus (averages around $90 four times a year)

    Cons

They say the average salary of a hourly walmart employee is 12.50. That average is figured by adding in the hourly wage cap of 18 dollars 15 year walmart veterans earned. Starting hourly wage for an overnight associate is 8.50. Americas inflation rate will average the the max hourly pay allowed. Walmart vets will see their hard work diminish.overnight Hours are 10 pm to 7am .Some employees can expect to lift average of 1500 lbs a night . I've seen senior citizens men and women with this daily work load. Precious family time is often missed. Walmarts a bully . Don't let the pretty facade fool you

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get out while you still can. walmart is on the downhill slide and its nothing but mud.
