I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

can advance if willing to relocate. usually will work with you on scheduling.

    Cons

has a tendency to expect more from lowly paid hourly than from overpaid management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hourlies make or break the stores and businesses. not all management is created equal.

There is a power struggle within management and you have to work hard and know people to move up quickly.

I have been working at Walmart part-time for less than a year

    Pros

You can work just about as hard you want to and the work is mindless busywork. The days go by quickly with this job and you get to work with some laid back people. The hours are pretty flexible and they are happy to change them depending on who you have for a manager.

    Cons

There is a major lack of communication with management and different managers tell you to do different things not knowing that you already have a ton to do for the day. The pay sucks and there is a general fatigued attitude surrounding employees and often customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask your employees what they currently have going on before you tell them a list of things to do. Understand time frames of how long it should take to complete certain tasks and assign them to people accordingly, knowing your estimates may be incorrect.
