Former Employee - Seasonal Worker in Tracy, CA

I worked at Walmart full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Pretty much instantly got the job and the interview was easy as well as getting everything processed. They offered full time positions as the store was expanding to a super center.

Cons

You work your butt off trying to prove yourself and its all just butt kissing and brown nosing, even though I didn't get hired on, they kept lazy, hardly can finish the job right workers that just kissed up and hung out with the temporary supervisors for that period of time.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people that actually try and do above and beyond what they are asked.

Fun at first - After Sam Walton passed the company stopped caring.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Co-Workers!
Walmart has some of the best people working there with tons of knowledge and a deep love for the Walmart culture.

    Cons

Sam Walton's passing - after Sam left the company stopped caring about it's associates only focused on bottom line.
Constantly cutting hourly associates down to the bare minimum hours - some associates end up with a pay cut of 40% - hard to keep them when they can't make an honest living.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your associates and the rewards will be amazing - Sam did this and thanks to that the company is one of the biggest in the world.
