I worked at Walmart full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Its retail.... nothing good to say.

    Cons

Managers are very impatient, rude and very unprofessional. Each store manager set the mood for the whole store.. the mood of the store manager went down the ladder. I would of prefered a manager with an education rather than ignorant people running such big stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get an education to learn to treat your employees better.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Many good opportunities to advance in the company if you have the support from you managers. Decent health care benefits if you qualify. The associates that you work with are great people.

    Cons

All new associates are now hired as temporary and is hard to get anyone motivated to do their best work when they are working for minimum wage with no benefits and can be terminated at any time. The scheduling system is ridiculous and they are always asking you to do more with less.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Working for Walmart as a manager is one of the most demanding and frustrating jobs that I can think of. If you can be a manager at Walmart for any length of time then you can be a manager at just about any other company and succeed. The problem with Walmart is that they put all the workload on the Assistant Managers and never give you enough employees to get the job done. You will work more hours that imaginable because you are the one that will be doing the work not the associates.
