Great for starting out. But keep up the job search while you work there.

I worked at Walmart part-time for more than a year

Pros

Probably the easiest job in the world. They have an open door policy that seems to work well. If you're lucky you'll have some nice coworkers to hang in there with.

Cons

Way too many layers of management. You get a different task from each one or the same task they want done in different ways. Feast or famine work hours. A tad above minimum wage. Not much opportunity to advance.

I have been working at Walmart part-time for less than a year

    Pros

You get to be out of the house and meet people. Associate discount card. Chances for advancement and relocation if you stay a while. Looks better on a job application if you are working than if you are not. Retail experience for your resume.

    Cons

You start at rock bottom pay Part time. It takes forever to get on full time and get most benefits. no regular hours or days. No regular duties, you an get moved to any position at any time (sales floor to cashier to groceries stocking, Etc...)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get organized and give your employees some structure in the day and week. employees are happier if they know what they will be doing from day to day. work out the schedule so that employees get the same days on and off every week with their days off together instead of just willy-nilly so then they can more easily plan family time.
