I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Probably the easiest job in the world. They have an open door policy that seems to work well. If you're lucky you'll have some nice coworkers to hang in there with.

Cons

Way too many layers of management. You get a different task from each one or the same task they want done in different ways. Feast or famine work hours. A tad above minimum wage. Not much opportunity to advance.

Advice to Management

Chain of command. Follow it.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

IF you have good coworkers then its a decent job. simple job, easily can turn your brain off if you're just a sales associate

    Cons

Managers do NOT promote people with education. They want puppets to work under them, not people with brains. Your manager will determine how easily/difficult it will be to progress. For some reason when the hard workers slack a little they get talked to by management, but the slow workers never get talked to about work. Don't get any praise for doing great work. Even after saving a manager's butt.

    Advice to Management

The managers shouldn't be like a high school clique. promote the good employees not your friends that suck at the job.
