Opportunity to make significant impact, but limited growth opportunities

Manager (Current Employee)
San Bruno, CA

Pros- Work on projects with enormous scale and impact
- Recognizable brand for resume
- Good work/life balance, easy hours
- Passionate coworkers

Cons- Limited room for advancement, which is surprising for the size of the company. Promotions tend to be random and are based on relationships rather than skills and abilities. As a result, there is a level of mediocre middle management
- People are generally nice, but not as smart as some of the other Bay Area tech companies
- Division has been growing very rapidly over the past few years, which leads to growing pains

Advice to Senior Management- Focus on developing talent and new leaders for the company, not on rewarding people for "playing the part"
- Pick a strategy and stick with it. Priorities change too much.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
