I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Culture under Iger has improved significantly! Iger has brought a sense of collaboration and partnership to the internal teams. Creative and dynamic environment. Values and encourages entrepreneurial thinking. Plus, the benefits are fabulous - Parks & Resorts, Disney Adventures, Disney Cruise lines, etc.

Cons

Very large organization that can be bureaucratic. There are many lines of business which can be difficult to navigate, especially when first joining.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company

    Pros

    - More professional than other schools in the TEFL industry.
    - Free passes to Disney parks.
    - Training done at the beginning of orientation is good.

    Cons

    - Huge workload. It's not just teaching kids, there is also a ton of admin work that you won't find in other schools.
    - Inadequate staffing means that you are always being pressured into covering shifts or not exercising your annual leave.
    - No communication, strategy, or respect from top management.
    - Disney culture is extremely political.
    - The company is too sales focused. Trainers are quasi-salesmen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Slow down and take a look at what things need to be improved. Solicit feedback from all levels of employees and don't be defensive about what needs to change. Disney English has the potential to be a great company.
