I worked at Walt Disney Company as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

There is nothing good I can share about this company.

    Cons

As an MBA intern, I'd advise you to stay away from this company. They don't have a culture of internships, and don't know how to make interns feel welcome and at home.

Their divisions are siloed and communication lines between them don't function. There is no way you can obtain the proper information to do your work if that information resides somewhere else than where you're working.

The learning opportunities are limited at best, but I guess you can have the Disney brand on your resume. They have a revolving door, and most of their good people leave. So you get stuck with all the poor-performing employees.

  2. Hard work, little monetary reward, slim-none recognition, with a bureaucratic structure to fight.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - It's a great place to start when you're young. Maybe fresh out of college, or even while in school. Then, move up.

    - Perks like discounts, free tickets/experiences, constant drawings to enter, and great benefits.

    Cons

    - Vending machines are always overpriced.

    - Food (Sodexo & Aramark) are poor quality/price.

    - Difficult to get recognized. Recognition cards are pointless.

    - Difficult to move up, move over, or move out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't just take Disney leadership positions into consideration when recruiting. Ask the Cast Member's team members about leadership character. Break the mold of the Emerging Leader program, and start recognizing individual contributions and skills.
