More benefits and perks, but lower pay. Wonderful as long as the magic doesn't wear off.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, friendly atmosphere. Casual, first-name basis culture. Regular employees get free admission to the parks, and a limited amount of free admissions for friends and family. Great discounts at Disney stores, and many other companies that partner with Disney for discounts. Great 401k with company match (Disney stock, which has been quite profitable).

    Cons

"We work while others play" is a corporate motto. Unfortunately, we also work while others work. Full-time operations cast members are expected to have 24/7 availability, especially holidays and weekends. Company policies for hourly employees are geared mostly toward the college students and interns that may be restrictive for more mature or skilled workers. Pay is generally lower than competing companies.

    Advice to Management

Don't try to sell corporate policies like they are Disney products. Your employees deserve to know the "whys" behind the rules. Rollout programs should be informational, not sugar-coated sales pitches from fairies and princesses.
