I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (less than a year)

Pros

This job had some great perks. First you live in the middle of Disneyworld and can go to any of the parks for free. Pleasure island was fun and you have a chance to make some lifelong friends.

Cons

Long hours and poor pay. You're going to have to deal with a lot of upset people on a daily basis and keep that smile plastered to your face. It's not so bad if you have the right attitude but when you look at your pay check after a week of 60+ hrs during peak seasons it might make it harder the next time a guest blows up!

Not for me, but may be the place for you if you eat and sleep the Disney brand.

I worked at Walt Disney Company as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Working in and around the parks is exciting and always changing.
Did not expect long hours of overtime in my department (a welcome change from my previous employer).
The Disney brand is recognized and respected world wide.

    Cons

Working at Disney you really need to love Disney to make up for the inferior pay (took a 25% pay cut post taxes to go to Disney from a city with similar living expenses).
The quality of the engineers was hit or miss, disappointing after coming from another highly regarded company. Saw some questionable decisions made that came from lack of engineering common sense.
Orlando is not exactly the gem of Florida, but that is only an opinion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase pay/benefits and make other changes to attract top level employees. The best employees will not work for Disney simply because of the brand alone.
