I have been working at Warehouse Demo Services part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Flexible, you can request days off. You get to talk to Costco members all day.

Cons

No regular schedule, not allowed to talk to other employees while you are on the clock, Job is MUCH harder than it looks. People can be very rude. You are not guaranteed any hours.

    Pros

Great job if you're just starting out or coming out of retirement. Pays well. Free lunch.

    Cons

Hours not the best. You can never tell what time it is.

  2. Good Company, but a couple of terrible corporate managers

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Warehouse Demo Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

By and large a good company. There are opportunities for advancement. Note: Jim Sinegal is not the CEO of WDS. He is the former CEO of Costco.

    Cons

The company is being ruined by a few upper managers in the corporate office. Full time supervisors (in each Costco) are woefully underpaid for the work they do and the number of people they supervise. Regional managers are micro managed and kept 'in line' through fear of losing their job by an upper management that is inconsistent and often not positive and supportive. It's a good place to work part-time as a demonstrator, but the hours can vary greatly from week to week.

    Advice to Management

Operations is the most important part of WDS, yet at the corporate level it is the most poorly run. Make a few key changes and it would be a great compnay.
