I have been working at Warner Music

Pros

Hands on involvement with new and catalog artists. Creative environment. Good benefits. Friendly people.

Cons

No salary increase in relation to yrs worked or job performance. Coordinators and Managers remain with the same salary they started with regardless of how long they have been with the company. no annual "cost-of-living raise", a merit raise of 3% is rare but can happen every 5 years or so. Only way to guarantee a salary increase is through a promotion, however that could mean waiting 3-6 years before a position above yours opens up.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees at the ground level. They are the ones who keep the motor running. If a business area is performing well and producing a large chunk of revenue, the individuals should be compensated with an increase in salary that is proportional to the revenue they generate for the company. Pay more attention to resource deficiencies (human and technological) and address them promptly. By doing so you will create a more effective and efficent work environment. Remember: You need to invest money to make money.

    I worked at Warner Music

    Pros

    Looks great on resume
Everyone is cool, friendly, and mostly competent and care about their line of work
As an intern, great learning experience in a dynamic environment

    Cons

Music industry as a whole sucks right now, so it's not like your chances of a job after the internship are that much greater

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seriously consider your interns for future employment. They are a great pipeline that have served for credit only, anywhere from 4 to 8 months. They know the company's ins and outs already.

Management failed to lead, WMG lacks innovation to be number 1.
