I have been working at Washington State Department Of Ecology full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Overall management is very supportive. It varies among programs. There's good work/life balance and flexible schedules. The building is a nice environment with wooded trails right outside. During your lunch hour you can take wellness classes like yoga, Nia dance or Zumba. I've worked with a lot of nice people who are committed to doing a good job and care about the goals of the agency. Upper management regularly communicates with staff.

    Cons

Limited opportunity for growth and pay is below average, but it's worth it to me for the good work environment and contributing to improved environmental management.
