Pros

Overall, the leadership at WM is truly committed to the safety of their employees. There are some managers that don't quite get it, but that is not because of lack of support from Sr. Leadership.

Cons

They may have cut too far in trying to reduce management structure costs. All the same work must be done (if not more) and resources are limited.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The few safety resources left in the field must be more highly valued and compensated. They are key to continued success. The size of the group has been greatly diminished, so the folks left have tremendous responsibility.

    I have been working at Waste Management full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Safety, use to have a many years ago but not anymore! Employess are the best and hardest workers I have ever seen.

    Cons

    Theives. Ruthless. Decieving. Liars. Heading toward becoming a sweatshop. No consistency. A lot of favortism. No sick days given at all. Horrendous point system, many sick people working on the floor and highly contagious, one big sick call center. Stress at an all time high for employess, no compassion, no heart! Treated like a child, breaks are taken away so meetings can take place, Outdated systems. Reptitious typing from one program to another, none of their programs talk to each other. Program are a joke, never works, time consuming. Quality Management Team is a third party and judges agents quality on the phone, no idea how hard and how many programs don't work, so agent is scored bad, there is no consistently. Constantly changing their do's and don'ts. Very hard to reach their "perfect score" commissions are stolen from the rep if a bad phone call takes place which I think is wrong! Believe QMT is meant to structure and teach, not to be used purposely so agents don't get their commissions. Everything your are told at the interview, will change after your 90 days. Impossible to know your job duties because of the change all the time. Makes one believe that their structure is designed to make you fail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Quit being so greedy! Slow down. Encourage and teach. Your tactics are running you into the ground and your employees to the hospital. Treat your employees good and posts like this wont have to take place. Obviously there is a huge cry for help...LISTEN!!!!
