I worked at Wave Broadband full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Clean facility (Kirkland main office).

Cons

Frontline employees lack training. HR hides behind policies. Management is incompetent. Senior Management is self interested.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

A drastic top down makeover is necessary. Starting with the "policies" that enable employees to grow in a motivating work environment. Both frontline and managerial employees need some serious training in their respective fields to support business growth. C-Level employees need to think more with their hearts and instead of their wallets to instill the needed business culture and values. Please take a look at top/world leading companies in the Pacific Northwest as examples.

    I worked at Wave Broadband full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    The work environment was clean and inviting. All of the people were friendly and there were often free food and prizes.

    Cons

    Mandatory overtime was a regular feature, non-paid time off was not allowed, and schedules were regulated down to the second.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try to micro-manage less. Have faith in your employees abilities. Give them a task and then set them free to do it in their own time frame.

    Pros

    Get out of there !! For customers, cancel your service ! This is a company that treats employees very badly !!

    Cons

    True hiring and firing monthly ! Quick to do so called training classes where the trainer constantly brags and seems very uninterested in wave or his job. The reps are constantly monitored (every call is recorded). If you don't con someone into getting a service (note: the majority of customers are in collections). When customers say they cannot pay, the rep gets canned for not conning them into paying their full bill. Very very small time operation ! Stay far away !!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Being a very small company compared to Comcast, you need to ramp up your promotions offered to Fortune 50 companies to be compettive. Also the idea of canning employees because they cannot con the called (against FCC regulations) is extremely primitive! Every consumer needs to run when they your company's name and culture.
