I worked at Wawa

Pros

Extensive training, Great Pay, Great Benefits, for those that are hardworking, and retain a good attitude.

Cons

Life /work balance, (IT is a 24 hour a day job. Some area managers are not fair and equitable with spreading the talented junior managers out to the stores evenly. Always want more more more, never satisfied with a completed assignment. Usually doing your bosses work and your own if your are fairly competent.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The communication of changes made to training system is not adequate. Too many changes during the busy season causes chaos and inability to pay attention to details.

I have been working at Wawa

    Pros

    1. High praises from management
    2. Different people to meet
    3. Flexible hours
    4. Fairly easy to complete job tasks if you have any work ethic

    Cons

    1. small pay for amount of work
    2. not much room for growth
    3. Strict, and some trivial rules
    4. Attitude from some customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut the dead weight (associates), and reward those who show promise with higher pay. Giving an employee "goose bumps", which is basically only good for Wawa apparel and gift cards, unless you win an obscene amount of points, is not adequate compensation for the amount of work.

    I worked at Wawa

    Pros

Allows for a relatively quick promotion process for those looking to move up within. If you're just there for a check while you're getting through college, etc. it will be very frustrating however. Good environment, management was friendly enough and created a joking kind of bond between employees.

    Cons

A very select few intelligent workers form the backbone of day to day work, picking up the slack of all the part time high school and college slackers that don't have the desire to move up. Can make early weeks at the company tough to get used to, despite being rewarded quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep a higher standard for all CSAs instead of allowing some to shirk their work onto others. Continue to look for skilled employees to move up.
