Wayfair (formerly CSN Stores) – “A Growing Company with Dynamic Workforce”
2 of 5 people found this helpfulPros
CSN puts a lot of trust in top performing employees - if you demonstrate analytical, proactive, and hard-working behavior many departments reward that with a great level of input and autonomy. Effort over time needs to be made for this to happen, but at CSN if you want a job that matters and where you matter, it can happen with some honest hard work.
Cons
Because CSN is a quickly growing company, often there is a lack of cascading communication or a sense of connection between senior leadership and the workforce at large. Employees in management or on small teams are often privvy to more information or to more of the thoughts and rationale that leadership has - however, it's the junior staff that needs to understand that better since they are "in the trenches" so to speak.
That being said, there is also a environment where many employees have an inflated sense of worth and I think management can run into folks who have a sense of entitlement about them, which can make it difficult to bridge that communication gap.
Advice to Senior Management
I think that more emphasis grooming top performers will ensure that we have leadership for tomorrow (and leadership that can handle the job) - we run the risk of too much attrition if we don't find more creative ways to connect and engage the more junior workforce.
