Make a quick buck. You may have the opportunity to see some different countries.

Cons

Lack or home life. The opportunity to take time off was non-existant. If you were to complete a vacation request form the supervisors would try to ignore it and hope that you stop asking.
Lack of respect for employees health and well being. For instance, if I was working offshore and needed to come in to take care of personal or health matters it would take 2-3 days to get back on land, if not more! That is, if you could convince management to send out someone to relieve you.
There were many instances where managers would hang up on field engineers mid-conversation.

Advice to Senior Management

Any attempts to try and retain field personnel will benefit you in the long run. Customers grow tired of always having inexperienced personnel on the location trying to lead jobs.
