I worked at Web.com Inc full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They have free parking. There is a cafe on site where you can buy lunch and snacks. The restrooms are in working order. Wall to wall carpeting. Safe low crime area to work.

    Cons

They have a no raise policy, saying the compensation is based on performance. Incentives and bonus pay are always things they are "looking into" but nothing ever comes of it. Company constantly attempts new ways to get more work out of employees for less money. Not a family friendly job - if you are non-management and trying to raise a family on this salary you will find it very difficult. About 40% OF the people who work here should be terminated, as some employees are taking multiple cigarette breaks each hour. There are also a many employees sitting on facebook and chatting instead of doing work. The employees who do work hard carry those who don't want to perform their job duties. The incentive to do your best is gone, as it makes no difference if you work hard or are lazy - you'll still get the same pay.

The philosophy is to get the money from the customer as quick and easy as possible, no matter what it takes. After the sales phase is closed, those employees in the next phases are to manage the customer's expectations - which are always different than what customers expect and/or were told by sales staff. It is up to others to save the project while the sales rep collects the commission check.

The company seems to want to put one blanket over every department as far as procedure and policy. This clearly does not work, as every department is different and plans must be tailored for each situation. Here it is not - and every policy eventually results in failure, where the solution is a another new policy that also fails.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees a livable salary. Get rid of the dead weight. Reward the talent for good performance. Listen to the employees on the front lines. Improve your employee relations, because not even one non-management employee here is happy.

I have been working at Web.com Inc full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are not a whole lot. The paychecks come every week without issue. The company is willing to spend money on travel for employees.

    Cons

The pay is horrible and way under industry standard and there is a no raise policy. The typical response to a request for a raise is ``We will consider it after you take on more responsibility``, then if you do so they will say "Why should we give you a raise? You've been doing this work all along.".

Senior management has no regard for work-life balance. It doesn't matter who or what you are you belong to the company and that is how they see it. They do not care about employees as long as they are getting some amount of work from you. There is not much in the way of career opportunities either. The seem to prefer to hire from outside rather than promote from within.

Communication is by far the worst I've ever seen. Teams have no idea who their teammates are half of the time. There's company wide communications only when the CEO want's to tell us that we shouldn't do something or to brag about revenue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be nice to see some financial incentives put in place where employees can earn a yearly salary / wage increase. Also, the company should stop bragging about revenue and share prices unless they intend on sharing some of that with the staff. Being told one minute that there's a no raise policy then right after that, brag about money, does not make your employees feel good about themselves or the company.
