I worked at Webtrends full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Good pay, benefits, IT and facilities teams

Cons

No career growth
Advancement apparently not knowledge or merit- based (favoritism)
Frequent drastic change in company direction
Layoffs also frequent, but lots of underperformers remain (favoritism)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn about technology since you are managing technical people
Be honest and fair
Learn something about project management (not micro-management)
Give credit where it is due
Focus on values, not slogans and buzzwords

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Portland, OR

I worked at Webtrends full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay, good benefits, mostly professional coworkers; mostly reasonable expectations; fabulous IT and Facilities groups

    Cons

Internal culture is heavily oriented to its external marketing messages; overt ladder-climbing and employee favoritism; too much lip service about customers; hipocrisy with regard to stated corporate values

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at what job functions are in place to keep customers happy, and then make it possible for those employees to actually make a difference with proper tools and resources.
