    Pros

    Surrounded by smart people, competitive pay and benefits, enjoyable work culture. Innovation is encouraged and rewarded.

    Cons

    Declining profits and client list make for a volatile work environment. Competitors have outpaced Webtrends in many key business areas leaving the future of the company uncertain.

    I worked at Webtrends full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good pay, benefits, IT and facilities teams

    Cons

    No career growth
    Advancement apparently not knowledge or merit- based (favoritism)
    Frequent drastic change in company direction
    Layoffs also frequent, but lots of underperformers remain (favoritism)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Learn about technology since you are managing technical people
    Be honest and fair
    Learn something about project management (not micro-management)
    Give credit where it is due
    Focus on values, not slogans and buzzwords
