Pros

- Great corporate culture, very family oriented. People actually like each other and enjoy coming to work. - The company provides all or most of the necessary tool to be successful. - The company provides an ability to move up or laterally - Profit sharing :) - Stability - the company has a 58 year history and has never had layoffs (that says a lot for company in financial services industry) - The company is very profitable

Cons

- Benefit and parking costs - Some desks and furniture can be updated - No casual days, business professional at all times - Early start time (mine is at 7 AM but some people are here by 5 AM)

Advice to Management

Upgrade office furniture and some equipment. Lower the benefit cost and subsidize parking. Above all, keep doing what you are doing. This is a great company with great history and bright future.

    Pros

You will meet some nice people, none of which are in management.

    Cons

There are too many but here are the basic: 1) Employees are divided by the have and the have-nots 2) Outdated equipment and software 3) Disparity in salary

    Advice to Management

I find that management does not like to accept constructive review. The environment is paranoid and employees feel the need to watch their backs, this is created by the senior and executive management. Accept responsibility for FINRA findings and stop blaming subordinates.

    Pros

If you have to be in LA and work in investment banking or equity research, this is it

    Cons

The firm is CHEAP, working NY trading hours while living in LA destroys your lifestyle, resources are extremely limited, the firm is second-tier at best; the offices are filthy.

    Advice to Management

Change the firm culture dramatically. Pay people better. Quit making excuses for poor performance year after year. Stop playing Ed Wedbush's interviews on local radio throughout the offices - it's pathetic.
