Current Employee - Receptionist in Prince George, BC (Canada)

    Pros

Encouraging members who are working hard to be healthier; flexible hours.

    Cons

Pay is very low; workload is unpredictable as staffing is based on the previous week and on busy weeks you feel like you are giving poor customer service; incompetent management; pressure to sell product; not feeling valued as an employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees with respect. When they come to you with complaints about working conditions, please do not tell them that you "care too much" about the members. That is pretty much the only reason most of us continue to work at Weight Watchers...because we care about memebers!

    Pros

wonderful helping members reach their weight loss goals. Great staff to work with

    Cons

much of the workload is expected to be volunteered time. It is extraordinary to consider how much the company brings in and how little they pay their employees. There is no compensation for mileage, or inventory counts, if customers keep you longer after the pre-determined 2.5 hours, product is stored at your home, there is no insurance benefits. 15 min. setup time for an hours worth of work for 2 - 3 people and will be paid $3.33. It's shameful. It appears to be a global problem.
