I have been working at Welch Allyn full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The people at the Beaverton location are great to work with. They think outside the box, have a lot of experience with Lean processes, and work toward the common goal.

    Cons

Group-think has taken up residence at the corporate headquarters, making progress painful, if not nearly impossible, particularly within QA and RA groups.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because they're nice and they've been there a long time, doesn't mean they are the right people for the job.

The trend over the past several years has been to do more with less people

I worked at Welch Allyn full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - Nice newer facility
    - It could still be a great place to work. Only time will tell

    Cons

    - Cost containment gets a front seat and employee benefits are shaved off a little at a time
    - The worker-business relationship has eroded SIGNIFICANTLY
    - WA still demands loyalty and dedication to your job and the company while they slowly screw over the workforce and then wonder why the employee morale is drastically declining
    - Management has become a reward for the @ss kissers in the organization and is less about ability to do the job and actually supervise people than it is about impressing the boss and owners
    - Management thinks they are the only ones that are able to think
    - Management without fear, intimidation or incompetence is rare

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are no entitlements. It is work and you have a job because one was created for a specific purpose. Focus on improving product quality and employee morale before it's too late. Customer wil come FIRST only then.
