WellCare – “The Lack of "Care " in WellCare”

A national employer in a field that is growing ( managed health care ). Originally under the previous management this company provided growth and very positive returns on investment. There was an opportunity to expand into different markets as well as tailor different products. The launch of the PDP product was very beneficial to seniors. This company seemed to have been poised to be one of the top 3 managed care firms in the United States until the government launched an investigation around the behavioral health side of the company and deployed over 200 FBI agents to "raid" the Tampa headquarters. Unfortunately, at no point in time were the front line employees prepared for such a traumatic event.
Cons
Very long hours, little recognition for going beyond your job description. Very limited communication from Senior management. You were expected to work without access to key information.
Advice to Senior Management
They should openly communicate with the employees on a regular basis and be open to suggestions that could improve work processes.They need to get over the greed factor. Is it really fair to bring in cronies of the prior senior staff and vest millions of dollars of their shares immediately,,,This is while the "regular" employee goes from a hare being worth $126 one day and $20 the next.
