    I have been working at WellPoint full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Free coffee , powdered soup and instant oat meal as well as terrible parking.

    Cons

    Political cliques , favoritism abounds, door guard has been consistantly late 5 to 20 minutes for the last five years while other associates if even 1 minute late get docked , open door only opens one way to let to you out ! Area traffic is terrible no matter what time of day worse in bad weather.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Walk in a associates shoes see what goes on through their eyes or from their level.

    Pros

    Many interesting projects due to the size of the organization
    Good compensation

    Cons

    A lot of paper pushing
    Slow integration of newly acquired businesses
    A lot of mediocre and substandard talent stays on for years dragging everyone's productivity down

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    After my employer was acquired by WellPoint, the acquired company has been in a strategic limbo for three years. As everyone focused on a technical integration, customers were neglected, market research was abandoned, and innovation was forsaken. As a result, at the end of the three year integration, WellPoint received not a cutting edge technology but a three year old product as the rest of the market players continued innovating. The opportunity to make customers' experience engaging and personalized using newly acquired assets was completely squandered as most employees of the newly acquired company who had any ambition decided to move on to more interesting projects instead of suffering from neglect for another year.
