I have been working at WellPoint full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

too many opportunities to solve issues and problems. Great people

    Cons

Work life balance, travel, too political as leaders have been living and protecting their respective islands, no clear strategy for future

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make hard decisions to consolidate top down - rather than ground up - which has repeatedly failed all these years and continues to be a challenge

I have been working at WellPoint full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Virtual work environment! Many women in executive positions. Bonuses (when they pay out).

    Cons

Frequent organizational changes and layoffs. Many different managers in a single year! Difficult IT infrastructure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Politics can really affect strong, talented teams. WLP has a lot of great talent that is being burned out from all of the politics and game changes. These folks are extremely committed and continually drive high performance and successful outcomes--but, the last few years have been really tough on this type of talent (who could leave and instantly land another position in a more proactive and focused organization)--these are the most loyal and talented people who really want to stay and build new ideas and thinking but have been the most hard-hit by lack of strong leadership, strategy and planning--and most of all... are those who support and want to drive change in an environment that continues to cling to ineffective business processes and judgement supported by those in certain leadership roles who are afraid or unwilling to change. This is very sad!
