Cons

Lots of turnover

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take notice, and be more approachable. "My door is always open is more a saying than something that is meant

I have been working at Wellesley Information Services

    Pros

Open Leave policy. Free food. Lack of traditional professional social lines. The people. The people. The People. Uhh. . . location right off the highway.

    Cons

Oh boy. Thank god there's no word max in this box. This place is incredibly unprofessional. The small company size lets it stay personal, but removes any semblance of a proper work atmosphere. Upper management says inappropriate things (about your actions, your clothes, anything). Middle management is promoted based on personality and not skills and as a result can't do their jobs correctly. don't count on them. Luckily, even though some people are given the title of "manager" they don't get an appropriate raise to accompany it, so they're still making dirt pay just like everyone else. and about that - the pay is a huge con. They hire people out of college so they can start them low then give them pennies for years until they grow enough to realize they're being scammed and leave to make real money. Don't look forward to any benefits. It says a lot if the best thing a company can gloat about is free bagels every Wednesday. A BAGEL COSTS $.75 WACKOS.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some management classes. Invest in management, instead of making fake investments in people using the company trip money. Where are those employee education initiatives you promised? Where'd the company trip money go? Break up the 'cool kid' clique that runs the place so management can focus on their staff and not each other.

They have no clue how to run a sales team

I worked at Wellesley Information Services

    Pros

Flex time off, ability to travel, nice building - great location - if you want to sit in a cubicle and make 100 calls a day from a list that is mostly disconnected numbers - you'll love it.

    Cons

travel - you are working 18 hours per day with no ability to take time off - after a long trip and taking the red-eye back you are REQUIRED to be in work the next morning.... (what about all the flex time they talked about during the interview) sales reps are treated like children - leadership has no sales background, and has a culture of stab you in the back team. Sales reps are not promoted within the company - the company hires outside people for the better sales jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in a Corporate Coach or Consultant that can teach you how to grow a company - right now WIS is a revolving door.
