Current Employee - Personal Banker in Oakland, CA
Current Employee - Personal Banker in Oakland, CA

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

20 Days PTO plus bank holidays are really nice. Great coworkers and depending on your manager, great support from them. Feels good that most of the time you get to help customers with there finances. Great learning experience on how to interact with customers. There is a saying that if you can survive a year at Wells Fargo, you can survive anywhere.

    Cons

Unrealistic sales goals that causes even the most ethical banker to turn to the dark side to make a living. Unrealistic customer satisfaction survey that causes paranoia in branches. Upper management is out of touch on what is really going on in the workplace. Slow upward mobility which seems only shady bankers gets to move up. Very low morale in stores due to unrealistic expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus less on sales and more on service. Many problems that happen in the store are caused by unnecessary sales. Downsize the number of bankers and only leave the smartest and most effective bankers and increase there pay to make there job feel more like a career. Take ethics violations more seriously.
